Q 5: Do you overanalyze or do you experiment?
These are interesting times we live in! And the bias for paralysis thanks to over-analysis can pose serious threats to “fresh” perspectives. These are times that call for “experiments”…experiments that could be the foundation for future breakthroughs. Many of us are trapped in wanting to have certainty as an outcome in everything that we do. Many of us are trapped in the paradigm of "Seeing is Believing".
Think about this: Some of us will think like FireStarters and actively encourage experimentation. Some of us will break out of the "Seeing is Believing" paradigm and work on "Believing is Seeing"!!! What paradigm is guiding your thinking and consequently your action? How much of experimentation do you encourage? What’s your appetite for risk? What is risk? Is it riskier not innovating now?
Completely agree with you sujit. this is time for experimentation, since none of us (current generation) has seen a global downturn such as this. also since the last such happening, all rules of the game have changed. on the contrary, its a completely new playfield. "Tried & Tested" methods are not going to work. we need to look out of the box, try out every concept/ idea/ thought, which we have thrown out of the window in the past, and try them out. this era of trials, experiments, research on all failed attempts and then re-trying, would lead to creation of new knowledge, new frontiers of business understanding. Sounds "Star Trek"? Well, what else is it?
